The business of prisons is big business in the United States, land of the free and home of the brave….As per my Google sources, currently: “There are approximately 2 million inmates in state, federal and private prisons throughout the country. According to California Prison Focus,“no other society in human history has imprisoned so many of its own citizens.”

The figures show that the United States has locked up more people than any other country: a half million more than China, which has a population five times greater than the U.S. Statistics reveal that the United States holds 25% of the world’s prison population, but only 5% of the world’s people.

From less than 300,000 inmates in 1972, the jail population grew to 2 million by the year 2000. In 1990 it was one million. Ten years ago there were only five private prisons in the country, with a population of 2,000 inmates; now, there are 100, with 62,000 inmates. It is expected that by the coming decade, the number will hit 360,000, according to reports.”

What the hell is going on here? How can this possibly be true, and why do we as a country not only permit it but also encourage it by our silence at this rank injustice?…As usual, the answer comes in those old folk sayings: Ignorance is Bliss and Follow the Money….Most Americans are actually not even aware of this disturbing new trend, but the richest people on Wall street, our old friends, the infamous 1% who control 99% of the world’s wealth, are the prime movers and motivators in this newest scam….

Is there no limit to their lack of human morality and common decency in their insatiable greed to become even more obscenely rich than they already are? …..This is patently outrageous! Apparently ethical behavior and a sense of justice were attributes the 1% did not inherit with their mostly ill gotten money!…

These greedy tycoons have inherited money left to them by their robber baron ancestors, who were mostly all exploitative bastards who worked people to death to be able to leave billions at birth to the latest generation of the 1%, who apparently feel being born with such a large silver spoon in their mouth is their God given divine license to ill…

Again, according to my Google sources: “Human rights organizations, as well as political and social ones, are condemning what they are calling a new form of inhumane exploitation in the United States, where they say a prison population of up to 2 million – mostly Black and Hispanic – are working for various industries for a pittance.

For the tycoons who have invested in the prison industry, it has been like finding a pot of gold. They don’t have to worry about strikes or paying unemployment insurance, vacations or comp time. All of their workers are full-time, and never arrive late or are absent because of family problems; moreover, if they don’t like the pay of 25 cents an hour and refuse to work, they are locked up in isolation cells.”

Well there it is, and if it sounds suspiciously like slave labor, that is because that is exactly what it is! These wealthy white tycoons on Wall Street are cashing in on the misery and exploiting the poorest of the poor, especially minorities, and they are doing it for the basest of motives, sheer greed disguised and distorted beyond recognition under the banner of law and order…The passage of all these victim less crimes laws do not make the streets safer for honest Americans like you and me…It just increases the wealth of the 1%!

Instead of trying to make the streets safer, they concentrate on ramming through stiffer legislation by their hand picked representatives in Congress that crack down on basically victim less crimes, especially long mandatory prison sentences for the mere possession of drugs, and the 3 strike law has been savagely perverted, it has changed from locking up the most violent dangerous offenders to an excuse to jail mostly young, minority groups for longer and longer period of times…

“Private prisons are the biggest business in the prison industry complex. About 18 corporations guard 10,000 prisoners in 27 states. The two largest are Correctional Corporation of America (CCA) and Wackenhut, which together control 75%of the outsourced prisons in America.

But let’s name names, so the spotlight shines on the real criminals, not only the faceless part of the 1% who manipulate the laws to serve their own unholy greed, but also the surprisingly well known corporations that invest in them…You may be surprised at how pervasive this list is, I know I was!…

Again, according to Google statistics: “At least 37 states have legalized the contracting of prison labor by private corporations that mount their operations inside state prisons. The list of such companies contains the cream of U.S. corporate society: IBM, Boeing, Motorola, Microsoft, AT&T, Wireless, Texas Instrument, Dell, Compaq, Honeywell, Hewlett-Packard, Nortel, Lucent Technologies, 3Com, Intel, Northern Telecom, TWA, Nordstrom’s, Revlon, Macy’s, Pierre Cardin, Target Stores, and many more. All of these businesses are excited about the economic boom generation by prison labor. Just between 1980 and 1994, profits went up from $392 million to $1.31 billion!”

We need to stop this sick, disgusting trend right now!…It is not only inhumane but obviously racist and dangerously unfair…It protects no one from the most vicious psychopaths and strong arm violent criminals, the ones who should legitimately be in jail for life instead of roaming the streets…

It has become just another tool for the 1% to add to their profane stockpiles of money, like a flock of deranged Scrooge McDuck’s, bathing in their pools of obscene amounts of wealth…It is the antithesis of what this country stands for…If you are a stockholder or even a patron of any of the companies listed above, please add your voice to protest this unAmerican, racist trend in this country; it is a virtual return to slavery!

Boycott these stores, vote against any legislation for victim less crimes…I am not a bleeding heart liberal, I am a radical conservative, and I think that we should bring the hammer down on the most violent offenders, murderous psychopaths, strong arm robbers, violent gang members, and sexual predators in this country….
In fact I think all violent offenders, especially convicted child molesters, should be locked up for life… But jailing all these other people for basically victim less crimes just to make money is not only morally wrong, it is fundamentally anti American….
Stand up and be counted, before it is too late…Like I said, most Americans are not even aware of this fascist, racist trend in this country, but it is increasing every year….Tell your friends, write your representatives, start a dialogue, vote against those legislators who are puppets of the 1%….And always remember:

“Never ask for whom the bell tolls…It tolls for thee!”
